**BROKEN RECORD ALERT!** Congratulations to 8th grader Jason Wohlgemuth, who broke the middle school boys' discus record, which has been standing since 1985! While participating at the Clark Relays in Fayette, Jason threw 42.85 meters (140.6 feet), breaking the previous record of 42.42 meters.



6th and 7th grade art students are working on scratch art. Scratch art includes the use of subtractive techniques as well as textures and forms. It also touches on the art principles like balance, contrast and emphasis.

The Easter Bunny and his egg-cellent friend came to visit Westran Elementary students!


Westran Elementary staff had an egg hunt after school! Candy and prizes are a fun way to celebrate after a day of Easter classroom parties!

Exciting day for 3A! The Easter Bunny stopped by and we received the Reading Counts Award for the month!
3A has received the Reading Counts Award all school year! I'm so proud of them all!



BOYS GOLF. Yesterday, at the Marceline Invitational, Logan Brown finished 5th with an 81. Cooper Drew shot a career best 113. Matthew Hopper shot a career best 123. Michael Johnson shot a career best 124. Kolby Vanlandingham tied a career best 125. Good job boys!

8th grade Outdoor class is working hard to renovate the Outdoor Classroom at the middle school! They are powerwashing and staining the furniture, planting fresh flowers and ornamental buahes, and placing landscaping rock to make this area both beautiful and functional. Great job, kids!




Mrs. Smith’s 2nd grade class had a blast diving into the fascinating world of sedimentary rocks! The students explored how these rocks are formed over time, discovering how different layers build up from materials like sand, mud. and tiny fossils.It was an exciting and educational experience that had everyone engaged and eager to learn more about geology!
