The football team welcomed our elementary students this morning! They brought many smiles! Game is at Van Far tonight! Go Hornets!

Congrats to these guys for making our weekly honors! Jason Wohlgemuth earned Scout Team Player of the Week for his great week of work. Jason has done a great job of stepping in at whatever position we need him to fill. Jason will do whatever we ask and he’ll do it to the best of his ability. We love the progression Jason has made throughout our practices! For our Core Value Players of the week(s), we’d like to say congrats to Danian Sunderland and Dominic Goett for being voted by their peers for Week 1. Each week, a player will be nominated by their peers who represented one of the Core Values we strive to achieve throughout the week. The core values are Discipline, Tough, Energy, Family, and Hornet Pride. Danian was nominated for the core value, Tough. Danian has came a long ways with his toughness and you can see that with his confidence playing. He has been challenged quite a bit this offseason and at practice, and he has not wavered. We're very excited to see what's in store for Danian this year and see the progress he has made! Dominic was nominated for the core value, Energy. Dominic has done a great job of bringing the juice! Doesn't matter if we're in weight room, at practice, or just hanging out. Dom's energy is worth catching. He is loud, fun, and always finds ways to make someone smile. Congratulations to these guys! We'll dismiss our pickups at WES this year just like we did last year. Please get your hang tags for your vehicles at Open House. If you can't make Open House, we'll send the hang tags home on the first day of school.

🎓 What is the Missouri A+ Scholarship Program?

The A+ Program can help eligible Westran graduates pay tuition and general fees at participating Missouri community colleges and vocational/technical schools.

Students may sign up beginning their freshman year! To get started, visit Coach Sander in the High School Office and complete an A+ Agreement Form.

Our goal at the middle school this year is to ensure that every student attends school regularly. One of our Building Initiatives this year is “90 for 90” where 90% of the students are present 90% of the time. Please be on the lookout for school communications about incentives, prizes, and updates about the initiative. We look forward to partnering with parents to achieve this goal!
