2B had a blast bringing the story of Ivy and Bean to life in the classroom! We made delicious dancing potions and magical wands — powerful enough to make Mr. Hunt break out in a dance!

At the beginning of October, we had an incredible visit to the Westran Fire District! A special shout-out to Tony Bell and all the amazing firefighters who gave us such a fun and informative tour. The students loved exploring the fire trucks, learning how firefighters stay safe, and discovering ways we can all help prevent fires. 🚒❤️ You all made such a special impact on our students — they haven’t stopped talking about it! Thank you for your service, your kindness, and for keeping our community safe every single day! 🙌

Congratulations to Mrs. Smith, Mr. Wilson, and Mr. Hammond, who were all three voted as Educators of the Quarter by their peers. These three exhibit passion and dedication to our school and our students. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for our students!

At an all-school assembly today, Chariton Valley presented Westran Middle School with a $4,872 check through the FRS Community Grant Program. This funding will provide new, energy-efficient kitchen appliances for the Family and Consumer Sciences program, giving students safer, more engaging hands-on learning experiences. Thank you to Chariton Valley, and congratulations, Mrs. Maag-Blanding!

Girls Golf. Congratulations to our 2025 State golfer, Hayven Fuemmeler! Hayven improved 15 strokes on her 2nd day at State and beat both girls in her group today with a 128 on a difficult, windy course at Tanglewood in Fulton. She made us all proud!

Westran FBLA attended FBLA Day at Truman today. We had a lot of fun. We participated in several business games and activities to improve our business knowledge to include: Price is Right, Minute to Win-It and a Pizza Company Pitch to judges.
