The 2005–2006 Westran Lady Hornets made history with a 3rd place finish at the Class 3 MSHSAA Final Four. Tonight, this team will be recognized at Mizzou Arena in Columbia during halftime of the Class 3 Girls State Championship game, which tips off at 6:00 PM. Congratulations again to this outstanding group of Lady Hornets for their accomplishment and the legacy they left in Westran basketball history!

7th grade art students have been busy working on value through pencil shading projects and use of negative space through oil pastel on black paper projects.

Westran will host a Middle School Summer Softball League this summer.

Congratulations to Madi Ingram and Cooper Drew for being selected to the first ever Missouri Small School Band Directors State Festival Band! This group is made up of Class 1, 2, and 3 schools. They both earned 2nd chair in their sections. They will rehearse and give a concert in June. Congrats!

The Westran HS Band performed today at the MSHSAA State Large Ensemble Festival. They received the highest rating possible - an Exemplary rating. Congratulations to the band on their accomplishment!

Seniors and senior parents, reminder: baby and senior pictures are due to Mrs. Barnett on 3/20, which is 2 weeks from today!

The Westran R-1 School District is seeking bids for the contracting out of mowing
services. Bids should include all four facilities (Elementary, Middle School, High School, and
District Office), excluding actual playing surface of athletic facilities at the High School. Bids
should include mowing and trimming of ditches, sidewalks, around buildings and fences. The
district will accept bids on a per mowing basis. Bids should be submitted to the Office of the
Superintendent, 228 Huntsville Ave, Huntsville, MO 65259, by 3:00 p.m., March 17, 2026. Any
questions can be answered by calling the Office of the Superintendent at 660-277-4429.

Congratulations to Cruze Haynes on reaching an incredible milestone — scoring his 1,000th career point on March 3rd against New Franklin in a State Quarterfinal Victory! Cruze becomes the 18th Hornet in program history to surpass 1,000 career points!!!
