Congratulations to Mr. Jon Schmidt on being awarded the Chariton Valley Community Star Award! Mr. Schmidt, a Westran Middle School teacher, was nominated by a community member. This award is for "teachers and first responders who make our communities stronger every day." We are proud to have you on our team, Mr. Schmidt!

GIRLS GOLF. Last night, at a Heritage Hills 9-hole meet, Kaylen Johnson shot 60 tying for 8th place. Hayven Fuemmeler shot 52 in a tie for 2nd place! Both girls started the season off with one of their top career finishes!

Sixth grade FCS students were given family scenarios where they had to work together to make a plan to achieve the goal.  One group was planning a holiday on a budget and the other was planning a vacation. They had a family meetings to determine obstacles, challenges and strengths, to navigate unexpected expenses, and to make a plan to achieve the goal.

7th graders have been enjoying their first stem project! They were tasked with building the tallest free standing tower out of index cards and tape!

🏈🥎 FALL SPORTS REMINDER 🥎🏈

The main entrance for all Westran home softball and football games this fall will be the ticket booth located between the softball and baseball fields.

Admission is $5 per adult. Westran students and guests ages 60 and over are admitted FREE!

🏈 Due to extreme heat conditions, today’s JV football game at Salisbury has been cancelled. The game has been rescheduled for Monday, September 14, at 6:00 PM in Salisbury.

🥎 Tomorrow’s varsity and JV softball games against Cairo will now begin at 6:00 PM.

Last week, 8th graders reviewed some math skills in a number line group challenge. They had a good time and enjoyed trying to compete against their peers.

Westran Middle School Parents, Don't forget Middle School's picture day is this coming Tuesday, September 1!
