The WMS Eighth Graders attended Truman State University's Teachers Matter Become One Conference today.
Students attended several sessions learning about an impactful, rewarding, and aspiring career pathway -- teaching.
They learned about Life Skills and Project Based Learning, Teaching is Fundamental, Robots and Creativity: Teaching with a Twist, and What Makes a Good Teacher?
We hope today opened their minds to the education career path! We know that whatever their futures hold, they'll make WMS proud!

WES families; Please mark your calendar for Thursday, December 19th for the Elementary Winter Concert! K-2nd will start at 6:00 PM in the HS gym, and 3rd-5th will follow around 6:45 PM. Students should plan to arrive 15 minutes before their half of the concert begins.

Over 500 students from across the state met in Columbia, Missouri on November 13, for the Future Teachers of America (FTA) state leadership meeting. Students participated in a college fair, where twenty colleges and universities shared information and opportunities for students. Gregg Kester, 2024 Missouri Teacher of the Year was the Keynote Speaker. He spoke of his travels during 2024 and what it takes to be a teacher.

Schedule Change: Due to South Shelby still playing football next Tuesday 11/26 there will be no Varsity Boys game. On Tuesday 11/26 there will be JVG/VG starting at 6pm. The VB contest will be made up on Monday 12/16 with JVB/VB at 6pm. All Games at Westran.
