Last week, the 7th grade choir students participated in the Northeast Missouri Music Educators Association Honors Choir at Jefferson Middle School in Columbia. They were under the direction of Dr. Blake Richter of Nixa, and sang 2- and 3-part SAB voicing pieces. They spent the day practicing multiple pieces and then performed in a concert that evening with 300 of their 7th and 8th grade peers.

**BROKEN RECORD ALERT!** Congratulations to 8th grader Jason Wohlgemuth, who broke the middle school boys' discus record, which has been standing since 1985! While participating at the Clark Relays in Fayette, Jason threw 42.85 meters (140.6 feet), breaking the previous record of 42.42 meters.
6th and 7th grade art students are working on scratch art. Scratch art includes the use of subtractive techniques as well as textures and forms. It also touches on the art principles like balance, contrast and emphasis.
