May’s Citizens of the Month for Kdg & 1st grade! This month’s character word is PERSEVERANCE!
Congratulations to Madeline Burton on her signing day as she will be joining the Track team at Columbia College next year!
This past Saturday was District Track for the High School Track Teams! We want to congratulate Madeline Burton for advancing in 2 events, the Long Jump and Javelin, both in which she placed 2nd. This coming Saturday she will participate in Sectionals at Monroe City ! Wish her luck! We also want to say that all the other athletes did extremely well on Saturday but only the top 4 advance to the next level. We had some personal bests on Saturday for the season and many of our younger athletes placed well in our Districts, so even if they did not advance they made great achievements! We are proud of our student athletes!

After reading Wishtree, 2C wrote their wishes on ribbons and added them to the tree outside our classroom.
Jayce and his family were so thoughtful to share beautifully, decorated cookies with the WES staff for Teacher Appreciation Week! Mr. Nagel came down the hall just at the right time!

4th Grade taking a break from MAP testing!
Schleicher Golf Clinic info... I am going to wait until August to have my golf clinic this year. It will be for any student entering grades 3-9 on August 16th and 17th. We will do an hour at the driving range on Monday and 3 hours at the golf course on Tuesday. Reminder, cost, and times will be announced here in early August. We will not re-register. The regular registration deadline for the June 12 ACT is Friday, May 7. Register at www.act.org/bts. The June 12 ACT is being offered at WHS.
Wed. afternoon, the boys golf team played their final regular season 9-hole match of the season at Old Hawthorne. They won by 24 over Paris, Harrisburg, and Hermann. Caleb Nagel got 2nd place with a 43. Districts are at 9am on Monday at Heritage Hills.
Monday was high school conference track meet. And due to some injuries the Lady Hornets were down to 2 student athletes. With that being said, they performed! Madeline Burton was named top scorer for the female side with two 1st places, triple and long jumps and two 2nd places, javelin and 100 m. Bethany Dollich placed 4th in shot put and 6th in discus. They scored 44 team points! Saturday we travel to Monroe City for districts. Wish them luck !!!!!!!
