4th and 5th grade had the privilege to have published author Stephen Kozan come speak to us yesterday. He shared about his journey of becoming an author. He shared a little about the process of publishing stories. He will choose a student to publish their own story by next year!

This Friday morning Nov 11 Westran is proud to our honor our area Veterans starting at 6am with breakfast that will be served until 8:15am and a program following in the high school gym. We will have a speaker, music and readings done. Please plan to come out and join.

Westran R-1 is taking applications for the position of Director of Transportation for the 2023-2024 school year. Applicants will be responsible for the operation of the district’s student transportation system and all other responsibilities related to transportation. Knowledge of gas and diesel mechanics and appropriate bus driver certification or ability to acquire is required. This is a 12 month position with health insurance and benefits included. Applications can be found on our school website or picked up at the Superintendent’s Office, 228 Huntsville Ave.
Applications will be accepted through December 1, 2022.
